Welcome to the links page of
All about Avia!.com
In developing this site we have to acknowledge the inspiration, hard work and dedication of both Bob Barrow and John Chapman without whom we never go off adventuring, even if they do only accompany us in book and note form. We are sure that they have inspired many others and brought lots of pleasure to countless other people that scour the countryside in search of obscure churches, temples and ruins.
We are sure you find all of these links useful

Book's
The Mani by Bob Barrow
An excellent book with lots of useful information about the family feuds and towers that make up the Mani.
Mani, Greek traditional Architecture by Yanis Saitas, translated by Philip Ramp.
This book deals as its title suggest with the architecture of the Mani. Lots of illustrations, maps and colour prints. Invaluable.
Mani's history by Kyriakos Kassis
It may have been an excellent book but suffers from a very bad translation.
Greek heroes by Andrew Pagonis
A book about three relatively unknown hereos of the the Greek revolution.
From the edge of Greek space by F.O Gearing and G.A Mariekaty
A very informative book if somewhat flowery in delivery.
Mani by Patrick Leigh Fermor
Well it had to be here didn't it. An all time classic.
Deep into the Mani by Peter Greenhalgh and Edward Eliopoulos
A very interesting and factual book on the Mani written in 1980.
