From the village of Vorio, circular route.

Approx 8 hours easy walking on tracks, med/hard in the gorge 16 km

Transport to the village of Vorio, Vorio is part of several villages called Kendro ( centre )or Ghaiteses. It has been linked to the ancient city of Gerenia. Facing the kafenion, take the road that runs down the left hand side. Follow this track past the monastery of Profitis Ilias perched above you.

At the junction take the track to the right, keeping on this all of the time. This track will take you down into the gorge, where you will see an ancient double bridge.

Take care when descending into the gorge to see the bridge as the goats have worn away the path.

You can now decide whether to walk down the gorge or retrace your steps and proceed to the village of Pighadia. You can return to the gorge by the same route that takes you to Pighadia.

We return to Vorio via the gorge. Keeping an eye out for the spring of Avouros, this should appear on your left after about an hour and a half. It looks like a picnic area. Take the path that leads from the spring and following it until you reach the top, turn left and head for Vorio, an ideal place for a drink..
